Frequently Asked Questions

Finding the best human hair wig involves more than just choosing a style. You want to ensure comfort, security, and a natural look that suits your lifestyle and preferences.

Size and Fit
The best wigs never cause tension, itching, or discomfort and can be worn all day without worry. To achieve this, accurate head measurements and a properly sized cap are crucial. At Daniel Alain, we offer a wide range of cap sizes and a personalized Fit Kit system, to help customers find a human hair wig that feels tailor made.

Hair Quality
When choosing a wig type, it’s also important to prioritize the quality of the hair. Natural wigs made from European hair are considered the most premium option. They offer the finest texture, most realistic movement, and exceptional longevity.

Styling Versatility
Beyond quality, human hair wigs offer unmatched styling versatility because they can be heat styled and customized with color and cut. They can also be worn in a variety of updos and hair styles, unlike synthetic wigs that are more limited.

Human hair wigs are more expensive than synthetic wigs due to their superior quality, craftsmanship, and longevity. 100% human hair wigs provide the most natural look and feel that mimics the texture and movement of a real head of hair. They can be cut, colored, and heat-styled to offer the same versatility as your natural hair - something synthetic wigs typically can’t match.

There’s no doubt that lace front, 100% human hair wigs look the most realistic. If you’re looking for an undetectable wig, lace fronts with natural front hairlines can create an incredibly believable look.

Washing a human hair wig properly is essential to maintaining its longevity, softness, and natural appearance. Follow these best practices for washing, rinsing, conditioning, and drying your Follea by Daniel Alain wig:

Washing
  • Turn the wig inside out to expose the lace front and remove any hair caught in the combs.
  • Dampen the lace front and gently massage it with shampoo using your fingers to clean away makeup, sunscreen, or styling products. Rinse the lace front under running water from the tap.
  • Use a shampoo bath method: Fill a basin with warm water (around 100°F), add 2–3 teaspoons of salon-quality shampoo, and submerge the wig. Swish gently to create a lather.
  • Focus on the mid-lengths and ends, as well as the cap, to remove buildup without rough handling.
Rinsing
  • Rinse the wig under running water, always keeping the hair flowing in one direction to avoid tangling.
  • Repeat the rinse using a fresh basin of water to ensure no product residue remains.
  • A final rinse under the faucet will ensure all shampoo is thoroughly washed out.
Conditioning
  • Mix 2–3 teaspoons of conditioner in clean warm water to avoid clumps.
  • Dip the mid-lengths to ends of the wig into the conditioner bath and let it sit for 1–2 minutes.
  • Submerge the entire wig from cap to ends, then use a wide-tooth or rat-tail comb to gently detangle from ends to roots, helping distribute the conditioner evenly.
  • Rinse thoroughly under clean water to remove all residue.
Drying
  • Blot the wig gently with a towel, do not wring or twist the hair.
  • Place the wig on a wig stand or mannequin head to air dry overnight, or blow dry section-by-section using clips to secure and style.
  • Use a detangling brush or boar bristle brush while drying to maintain smoothness and shine.

We recommend washing a Follea by Daniel Alain wig every 7 to 10 wears.

While we can’t vouch for other brands, a Follea by Daniel Alain wig will last between 2 to 4 years with proper care and maintenance.

Caring for a human hair wig is key to preserving its softness, natural appearance, and longevity and daily habits can help your wig look beautiful for as long as possible.

Good wig maintenance starts with gentle detangling. Always use a wide-tooth comb or soft-bristle brush, starting from the ends and working upwards to avoid breakage or locking in tangles.

Wash and condition your human hair wig every 7 - 10 wears using a cleansing shampoo and hydrating conditioner specifically formulated for human hair wigs.

Allow your wig to air dry by blotting it gently with a towel and placing it on a wig stand. This helps protect the hair and minimizes heat damage.

If you choose to style your human hair wig, always use a heat protectant and keep the temperature of the curling wand or straightening iron below 350°.

To extend your wig’s life, remove it before going to bed and store it on a mannequin head or satin pouch away from direct sunlight.
